Any objections to a model mad boatless (at the moment ) person turning up for one of the days ?
I intend on being there for some of the weekend if able to but have nothing to sail or float but would love to meet some of you  O0

I am sure I talk for most Mayhemers when I say everyone is welcome
I will have some springers plus another model coming to Wickstead, you can take your pick. I am sure there will also be others.

Shane you can be my Springer Skipper for the weekend.
I've also got a Bismarck you may be interested in but it still may not quite be ready for the water in May...

It will be great to meet you.

Hi Mark MacGee,

I know I will sound like a GOG, but could you please consider changing your avatar on this site. As there is already a regualr contributor using this same picture, and it is confusing the hell out of this old git.

Steam powered springer coming on in leaps and bounds, engine and boiler finished, permission from contoller of the purse to buy another radio set. Also having to build another electric one for small offspring, and of course it will have to have guns, rocket launchers and all things destructive that boys seem to like (I say small, he sleps in the caravan and his feet are in the awning-hence needing Marks help to errect said awning) Mrs Phil will be using last years model springer (wish the same could be said of her wardrobe) With any luck (good weather, calm water etc) I will run a couple of the high speed straight runners
volunteers to stop please (fully paid up memebers of BUPA need only apply) I have used concrete banks for this in the past, but paint costing what it does !!!!!!!!
Will post some pics of progress

Hi Martin
Yes I think people will find it fun / hard / fustrating / whats it all about anyway (deleate as required) I will bring up my straight running markers and spare waders. I will even put up a gong "The uncontrolled Radio Steering" trophy.
Simple rules ie no radio control !!!! (Oh and try and go straight !!)
so who's game ?
(and don't panic there will be someone to stop boats----well Stavros if he has survived the steam straight runners !)

We are going to have some Springer Football at the Mayhem Weekend. If any one out there wants to take part can they PM me so I can sort out the teams and also make sure we do not have any r.c issues.

This is the boring bit Some Rules :police:

The Springer must be regulation size, 18 x 8 or the metric equivalent.
No Super Springers
Springers must have a Superstructure, I do not care what it is but No flat tops
One Prop only max size 40mm
One Rudder max standard springer size
Max voltage 7.2 volt, I know this is not standard for springers but I also know some people have this already in their springers.
Motor the max should be a standard 540
No Kort Nozzles, No Schottle Drives
Last but not least do not forget to fit the door springs on the front knees.

Hi Ken
I have attached a couple of pictures of the ones fitted to my springer. I believe they are door stops, I buy mine from B&Q but I am sure Homebase will have them.
If you have a problem getting them let me know, and I will get a set for you, they are only attached by one screw so easy to fit on the day.
