Dickie Tug Workboat Conversions...
« on: February 10, 2008, 05:43:09 pm »

  ...Hi Guys...

I notice that there are quite a few guys now doing this conversion & turning these wee tugs into something completely different from the original boat...

What I am looking for is the original parts that you take off & are thinking of throwing in the bin...

DickieD has already sent me some parts from his conversion job...

I am going to mould some Springer Hulls & fit them out with these Deckhouse/Wheelhouse, Masts & anything else that looks the part...

These boats will be the latest addition to our fleet for the kids to play with on their visits to our club...

If anyone has any parts available , Get in touch with me to arrange postage etc...

Hi Norry
That sounds like a great little project - our club had some smaller hulls done up using servo motors and wee props but they didn't stand up well to little guys trying to turn them into go-fast boats. You could control that with smaller props perhaps.
What speed controls are you considering?
Regards, mike

     ...Hi Mike...

Hows things in your part of the world ? ...

We will have to wait & see what Speed Controllers are donated, mooched, given, to us for the project...After All Mike... We are Scottish & we are supposed to be tighter than 2 coats of paint...
It will probably be M-Tronics 10amp chaps that will be used...I have found these to be OK in the past...
