Tug Moored off Dunoon
« on: February 09, 2008, 03:00:57 pm »

I was on holiday last month and I am sure that either 'Flying Drake' or Flying Duck' was moored offshore with a black hull, white superstructure and blue funnel. Can anyone confirm this or am I going Ga-Ga.  PS does anyone know of one of the old "Boats and Models" Flying Drake model for sale?  Cheers  Jim W.

Are you talking about the tug which is lying at a buoy in the Holy Loch? She is the St Budoc, built 1958 ex Foylegarth 83,ex Foylemore 69. So, sorry to disappoint you, it's not the old "Drake" or "Duck"
Have you looked at www.river-clyde.org.uk - lots of excellent pics including many of the old tugs.
Best Wishes
