Hi there PMK,
Now some statements we can accept, but Lucozade in Somerset?  :(  That's enough to see you barred from every local in about four counties.

Nobody enjoys the prospects of letting the medics run riot, but if a trip to B.R.I. , Frenchay or Southmead will sort it out, is this not a reasonable price to pay? To paraphrase the advert "You know it makes sense".

Hang on in there mate.

Just back from a holiday, so have only just seen your post, hope you will survive without hospital attention.
Some years ago I also had a similar experience, no choice but to go to hospital, transfused eight pints of blood, and lost half of my stomach, sure there were tubes everywhere, but I survived. I really don't think its the sort of thing that cures itself.
Best of luck PMK anyway.

PMK

I must agree with Colin about going in to hospital. I was reluctant to go to hospital 7 years ago but for the insistence of my wife. When I got to Accident and emergency they told me that my kidneys had shut down and that if I had left it any longer I would have died with a heart attack as my potassium was through the roof. My advice is go in for a couple of days until everything is OK. At least while you are there you can check out the nurses, MMMMMMMMM nurses.

Last time I had surgery I had this gorgeous nurse on my ward and then the shift change came and 2 blokes were on all night. Just my luck, still haven't been right since with stomach, more tests, Oh well.
Hope this doesn't mean you'll miss Glastonbury?
Get well soon mate, and switch to powerade, it has more electrolytes. O0

Do you know anywhere in Somerset which stocks an apple-based version of this at 8.5% ABV?  ::)

Thank you, Rich - I appreciate it. Thanks also to all the other names here whom I'd not mentioned in my previous.
Although, I'm having a bit of a chuckle over this one because if you look at the very first post again you'll see that FLJ started this thread back in Feb 2008. I've had heap plenty of recovery time since then, so, thanks to His Martiness, I'm back in the limelight again. :-)

Mave, in case you're there, this time they tell me it's pleurisy, hence the reason why the you-know-what is later than promised.

It’s called a nom de plume, silly boy.

Mr K and I frequently use them to confuse the little techno-gremlins at GCHQ. These are wont to intercept our high-minded correspondence in the hope of gleaning some tasty titbit of a nefarious nature so that their associate, Comrade Plodski, can find an excuse for a “home-visit”. So far it’s Mavis+Daphne 15; Techno-Gremlins 0. Honi soit qui mal y pense, dude.

Anyroad up, Mr Uggett, I was about to remind you of the sniggersome-ness of the other shortened form of “Richard” (i.e. the one which often goes with Spotted and Custard) when Daphne rebuked me for entering into a battle of wits against an unarmed man…………….

Used to use Dave.

The Robin had a refit at the start of last year, then a new manager was installed.

The result Karaoke nights, guest performers, loads of drunken yobs, and all the regulars moved to the Woodie.

That manager has now gone but the place is struggling to regain its reputation of a nice quite village pub.

Blimey, Colin! My great Aunt, Connie Holmes, and her hubbie Harry used to run The Woodlark just after the war. Rumour even has it that I "happened" as a result of my Mum and Dad doing a spot of pub-sitting for them while they were away with the skittles team.....................(Conceived in a pub, eh? That explains a lot, Mr Milbourn)

Haven't been back since...............I bet it's changed a bit.

Shame about the Robin - we used to have a smashing little folk club going there in the mid 70s, and the beer was always top notch.

Dave,

The Woodie really is a pub of two halves. The separate dining room serving smashing food, one of the best Sunday lunches going but it is best to book.

The Bar good ale and country characters, well worth a visit.
