Our mate PMK !
« on: February 13, 2008, 08:37:01 am »

I've had word that The Arch-Dude is a bit on the poorly side. He's confined to bed and only has his laptop and the forum to keep him sane. I'm sure you'll all help to cheer him up and wish him a speedy recovery; we can't afford to allow a cider-lake to build up................ ;)

Not sure about FLJ's comment that you only have the Forum to stay sane - I'd have thought it would have the opposite effect! But all the best for a speedy recovery anyway.

HEY!! What's all this??????

I just spotted the 'PMK is unwell' thread.
Gentlemen, I am touched by all your kind comments. Thank you, thank you!
But, man, you could have knocked me down with a feather. I see that Dave Jacket had actually posted the thread yesterday A.M...... and I only just seen it about 30 mins ago (approx' 01:30).

So if you're wondering what it's all about, and if you've got a couple spare minutes to allow me some self indulgence.......
In a word, blood -- lots of it. Every hour or so I have to make a mad dash for the bathroom, puking-up great gobs of the stuff. Quack says it's a burst ulcer. The silly sod reckons I should be in hospital. But no chance of THAT happening, because once you're in them places all they want to do is shove tubes up your bum and more tubes down your throat. Yuk!
But as Tug Ken says, I have the world at me fingertips... I've got me laptop, I've got access to Mayhem, and I've got enough lucozade to last a lifetime (burp!)
And suddenly, after stumbling upon this thread, I feel a whole load better.

Dudes, in all honesty, I thought I were about as popular as a fart in a space suit. Seems I got it wrong.
For what it's worth, each and everyone who left a reply, please accept my sincerest thanks.

Pete M.
Shipmate Bob.
Don Druid (great handle, great modeller).
Mike K.
'Tel' Faraday.
Bigfella (excellent taste in music).
Our old German co-hort, Jorg (just where is that umlaut on this *$! keyboard??)
Stavvy (who loves ya, baby!).
Chris Sheerline.
Baz Footski.
Tiger T.
Wise old owl, Mr. Bish'.
Tug Ken.
Pete Fitness (ex bank robber, now Oz royalty).
Ghost (neat handle, dude!).
Catengineman.
Mr. Sweeper (in case you're there).

Thanks to each and all of you.
Thank you!

Last word to a certain leather-clad Action man....

Dude, I know what I'm about to say is gonna sound pretty damn cheesy.
Don't wish to sound poncy, but heap big thanks for taking the time, effort and decency to post this thread.
Bless you, mate.
Thanks.

PMK

I agree about the tubes down your throat and up ya bum. I have had a few of those in Hospital. The ones up ya bum are the worse, not the actual procedure as I always have been given Happy Drugs before hand. It is the night before they give you this stuff to drink and about 15 minutes later you are sitting the bog, feeling much like the space shuttle on lift off :o :o :o.

PMK

Totally agree with you re hospitals - BUT -  the last time I was in one I had to have a catheter stuck up my P----.  The day it had to come out a different doctor came to do it.

WOW - she was drop down dead gorgeous, early twenties from somewhere east of Suez, with all the beauty and eastern promise that you could imagine.     An old mans dream - getting your pecker handled by the sort of young woman  that you only see in your daydreams.  And she even apologised in case it hurt ! As if I would have noticed  ;)

There are sometimes compensations you know O0

Don

p.s have to admit it was a private sector hospital - maybe that sort of thing doesn't happen in the NHS ?

PMK, I think a lot of us are uncomfortably aware that "there, but for the grace of God go I!" As the old saying has it "If we don't hang together we'll all hang separately. (I think you'd class that as mixed metaphors).

Don't overdose on the Lucozade!

Phew...... best of luck PMK. Now we can sympathise with you.

Whatever you do, don't go to Google about it.  This is not to be reccommended. You tend to go off on differrent tracks and next thing you know, your having a baby.  ;D

All the best

PMK, if you can stay at home and get well your'e probably best off doing just that. Without casting a slur on the wonderful work our overstressed and overworked medical staff perform in hospitals... you might come out with more than you went in with!

Hey Druid, I had a similar experience but they had run out of catheter and used a lump of garden hose instead! Despite the horrendous discomfort and total lack of dignity, I too couldn't help but admire the beautiful young nurse who tended to its removal. What is it with us blokes?.. never say die eh! I reckon that bit of our anatomy is the last bit to keel over as we draw our final breath!! O0
