scale electric tunnel hulls / outboards
« on: February 23, 2008, 09:25:07 am »

Morning Mayhemmers
,I'm craving a scale / semi scale tunnel hullfast electric boat.
I allready have a Academy F1 tunnel hull but keep breaking the driveline. I'm looking for a bigger boat with a more reliable drive and more speed.
I was considering a H&M Skater and buying one of those fancy Graupner electric outboards.  Does any one have any advice or photos to impart so I can avoid an expensive mistake ???   Come on,,,, somebody somewhere must of built one ???

Having a boat with an inboard motor and a dummy outboard linked to the rudder would be more reliable and probably more efficient. It should not be too difficult to adapt your existing boat or use a similar set-up on a bigger boat.

I've built 3 Hydromarine Skaters, brushless motors and lipos (about 3 years ago).
All the boats had the motor mounted inside running flexi shafts and included a flood chamber.
Fantastic fast fun and often getting to much air and flipping, you really had to drive them on
the throttle, hence the flood chamber.
I'll put some pix up later.

KMB do a scale tunnel hull.

It can be powered by a flex or their outboard.
