Watermarking software
« on: February 23, 2008, 10:59:35 pm »

How do I watermark photos.

I do not have paintshop pro and I only have the free starter edition of photo shop.

If anybody knows how, or knows of any free watermarking software (that doesnot cause problems) please let me know.

Tiger, old chip, I have a question for you...
Why would you want to watermark your photos?
Whats up, dude? You wanted by the FBI or something?

I can zip PaintShopPro4 your way if it's any help.

Hmm... just grocked your "Fine day out" thread. See you've solved the watermark problem already.

Is that a nice lake or is that a nice lake?

Hi PMK

Sounds like you are well on the mend now.

The watermarking is because I had a thought that a certian rogue trader (well known to this forum - but cannot name names) has a habit of ripping off photos. And seeing as Metcalf's Moonbeam is such a nice boat, and seeing how Mr Welsh Druid has built her as standard. I thought there was a risk.

I got round the problem by being a pain in the butt to Martin Mayhem, and asked him to do it. But then I thought I should really be doing this myself.

I havn't eaten any cats or dogs that I know of, and the locals would not waste the good meat on a Lau Wei. So all I get is chicken and pork. But at least the pork here still tastes of pig. Unlike the tastless stuff I had back home recently. We even have hog meat in the local market, very flavoursome.

I have PMd you as well.

Best regards
and glad to see you seem to be getting back to your old self.

Found a couple of freeware watermarkers on
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/gimp-watermark_R2.html
Most shareware ones seem a bit pricey.

If you use Word on your machine, you already have the tools for watermarking.

Mark

This will not do what you want. It just inserts something like a company logo or photo as a watermark on your stationery. ( e.g. a dimly visible  company heading to the notepaper)

It does not put a watermark on a picture.

Hog, eh? Great stuff. If you know where to go in the quieter parts of rural Goa you can enjoy wild boar vindaloo. The real thing, nothing the reared 'wild boar' in this country. And nothing like what passes for vindaloo here, either.

Seems to work OK - see below. The only problem is that the max text size option is a liitle small - but you can type in your own size.
