i want to put some running lights on a Dickie tug ive been messing about with. My problem is i know i cant set them up like a xmas tree set so is there a connector, or strip  i can buy or can i solder each set of wires i.e pos and neg to their respective types   with a single wire off each going to the   battery with a switch breaking the pos feed so i can use them at will.

Botchit,

You can buy connector strips in Maplins etc. They are plastic with brass inserts with two screw clamps per position. Using these you can connect them as in the (very) rough diagram attached. If the bulbs are not the same voltage a the battery, then you need to wire them in series or parallel to match the battery.
