Battery Waterproofing

I can understand that the RX needs to be waterproofed (I'm going to use a balloon) but the RX Ni-cads are already factory "shrink wrapped" in blue plastic so do they need to be further protected. (For Yacht installation).

Every little helps but remember that it is almost impossible to ensure a completely watertight seal against immersion.   When anything gets in, it will stay there so you still need occasional access and the ability to get into and/or replace the protection.

Very many thanks for your input. I guess that it makes sense to go for the Belt and Braces approach, its probably far less hassle in the long run. Thanks again. O0
