This is a link to my thread on the 'Pinger' Hydrophone kit I recently aquired and built. It's a fun tool for finding lost subs and listening to all the underwater sounds at the lake.

I haven't had it out yet, but I'm told you can hear the pistons in steamers from a fair distance. Should be interesting.
