HI
If I wanted to build a hull from plans, what would be the best wood for the base, shadows & planks?

Hi dgp

Plywood is often used for shadows.

For planking, do a search of this site as there have been several threads recently on just this subject.

The search box is towards the top of the page. But you need to go back tot he top of the form menu to search the whole site.
It will probably be under contruction techniques.

Plywood for the frames and I prefer Obechi for planking. But you`ll find 15 specialists with 17 opinions in that matter. So have a try what suits you best.

Hope that was out of any help,

Jörg
