Find the details of the overall length of the full size ship, then measure the overall length of your hull, multiply your hull length by 100 for 100 scale, 48 for 48 scale etc.
But dont expect an exact match!!

Thanks, will give that a go.  It will be built semi-scale so that sounds good to me  ;)

a useful key pointer is the hight of a railing and the height of doors.

it is how i came to HO scale for the Graupner neptun, the railings match HO, rail for rail.  however if it is the pegasus superstructure, find out the scale for the pegasus III and go off that, as your super structure will be already to a given scale

pegassus 3 is 1;32 nd scale but the boat you have looks more like 1;25 th if yoiu stay between these parameters you should have it looking right   dont be to fussed about some fittings being exact   to give an example  a customer recently quoted that a pallet was not to scale on a tug    there must be over a hundred different sizes of full size pallets from the ones we see on backs of trucks to apparently even the size of a car   Its just got to look right when you are on semi scale

Thankyou for that info,  I have gone with 1:24 scale and modifying the superstructure accordingly ( a marginal degree of artistic licence!)
