motor wires soldered up.

The wire is 240v 13A domestic electrical wire, and given that the motor will pull less than 5A it is more than ideal

I see your point Stavros, and when get a couple of crimpo spades a fuse holder will be installed,

as for the boat, her deck is now painted, along with the superstructure, all she needs now is plating on the two hatch covers, a full set of railings and two sets of canister life rafts.  should be on the water soon

well this is Miranda as she stands now, all she is awaiting is her railings and life boat canisters. :)

I very much believe one should look after models to protect them from "dock rash" but putting them to bed?

dock rash, Gemini and Celestia already have that, thanks to hard wooden stands, is there a cure?

hi goast yes there is a cure. I have got hold of a load of this blue foam. Its U shaped so it clips over the wood.

Good stuff that blue foam. I had some as packing with something delivered at home but I can't remember what!

The other solution is - of course - the ubiquitous foam used as pipe lagging. It comes in several sizes and can be found complete or split along its length. The latter type may also have a "sticky joint" for closing it up, which is an advantage for some applications but a nuisance under other circumstances. The lengths I purchase are either black or grey and cost a few centimes per metre.

Miranda has sailed :)

initial glitches were due to antenna being on bottom of hull, not taped up, that is now cured, and Miranda sailed well. seemes to be about as stable as Gemini, her stablemate

Congratulations! Now you need to hire a captain or two to be able to sail your fleet, and you'll be fleetmanager!

apart from minor details, such as anchors and chains, and a deck repaint, next major job is to redo her superstructure to change her appearance, her new superstructure is probably going to be something similar to Nord Icelandia

Looking good. You seem to spit these boats out like a production line and they all look fantastic. But one question though. Where do you keep them??? you must have heaps of storage around your place.
