I have a few of the old hitec esc that are the gold brick ones
can anyone remember the max voltage for them my mind say's
it 7.2V but I wanted to check

I think they were good for 8.4 (7 cells), any more volts and the output driver circuit would incinerate itself.  (Easily recognised - a very black resistor over a very black bit of PCB, normally with some melted solder and a curly bit of copper tracking separated from the board)

Yes, just had a look & the label reads 6 - 8.4V  O0

Thanks for the info I always had 6v going thru them
and I wanted to make sure they were not for 12v
