sealed propshaft
(1/1)
boatmadman:
Where can I source a sealed propshaft? Or, alternatively, does anyone know of a way of sealing them?
I have looked through the traders section, but nothing leapt out at me.
Thanks
Ian

All my boats (subs) have sealed propshafts for obvious reasons. Check out Pandan Models for some ideas. I use Simmering seals at the moment.
Subculture:
Just a little to add to what Ramesh said. 'Simmerrings' are a trade name for oil seals made by Freudenberg-Simrit. They just happen to produce a range of Nitrile seals that go down to 3mm shaft diameter, which is ideal for modelmakers.
