New Graupner Atlantic Challenger Build
« on: August 13, 2009, 06:13:47 pm »

Hi
Still early days in my MBM life, just about to start a Graupner Challenger, don't ask why :embarrassed: Just like the thought behind the real Atlantic challengers - I have gathered some research info, mainly coming up with Richard Branson's boats, Virgin Atlantic Challenger and Virgin Atlantic Challenger II. I do hope to build these in the future. However, starting with the graupner kit of the Azimut Atlantic Challenger I've been trying to find info/images of the original. Pictures seem to be as rare as hens what's it's :} I've searched the wonder web to find only 3 tiny images.

Can any one help with some real pukka images of the original Azimut boat?

Hope to post some pics as I go along - any comments good and bad about the kit are also welcome - I did get some good advice from "A Model World" who have started me off in the right direction but as I haven't started yet please feel free to comment.

Cheers %%

Thanks Andyn :-))

It's these two pictures plus the one here that I managed to find, the web site is also good, I translated this and printed it out for my records. As you may have found there seems to be far more on the web about the Graupner model than the real thing.

Anyway the kit arrives today :}, I'll start taking pictures from the off, hope to post progress at least once a month. If anyone has a picture of the real boats rear cabin area that would be really useful.

As the build is starting I'll move over to the "New Builds" area but if anyone finds any more images of the real Challenger please let me know.
