Hi All.

I am in the process of building a lifeboat, finished research on my steam powered waverley should restart building shortly and am therefore starting to think about the next project in line.

would anyone have a recomendation of an engine that would power a 60" trawler hull.  i dont mind what type of engine, kit or castings to machine.

You will need a mill as well as a lathe, although having said that, you may be able to do it all on a lathe if you have milling gear for it.

I only have small stuff, taig (peatol) lathe and seig x2 mill, but both these managed all the machining with capacity to spare.

Peter, yes they are a pair of Boggies and were the first major engine build I attempted.

thank you all for the info, i do indeed have his original paddle engine which is set for the Waverley  build here http://www.paddleducks.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5594.0

I will have to join his site, i was not aware he had set one up.
