Come back Roopesh
« on: April 09, 2011, 04:27:29 am »

Now that the mistakes and sufferings of our beloved Mayhemmer of the Year 2010 have come to light, I hope that I am not alone in being able to first smile at myself for being so skillfully fooled, and secondly freely forgive our Indian friend who has left us with not only a great legacy of ingenious and inspirational models, posts and ideas, but more importantly the opportunity to forgive and forget past mistakes and show a true spirit of brother/sisterhood within our modelling community, by welcoming Roopesh to continue to contribute to our Forum which he has loved and inspired so well?

Roopesh our friend, please do not despair but celebrate all the gifts and blessings that your God has given you, and know that you are fondly remembered and that you have many online friends here in the UK...do keep in touch if possible and let us know how you are.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

lets have your input again, matey.

Personally im willing to forgive. But have no wish to have a confessed liar back on the forum. The joke? was
taken much too far. I doubt this was one person but a group combining there knowledge. I further notice
that no direct apology was ever made.Yes a good cotributer but a flawed personality. John.

i don't think anyone was wanting an argument on this post, john s..........

those of us who wanted to see roopesh/rathikrishna back were offering an open olive branch.

if you don't feel you can do that, then simply don't post.

your arguments were done to death when the original enlightenment came to post......

we don't want it raking up again...........

if you don't want to welcome him back don't bother posting.

I'll go along with that Neil. I still enjoyed Rathy's simple Smoke Generator - saved me a lot of $$$$$$ and smells nice too O0

Personally, I never cared whether Rathy was a he or a she - I liked the idea of building out of scrap....... :-))

Can't see what actual harm was done by the "Deception". Only problem was the numerous red faces  {-)  {-) I think the only thing She/He/whatever requested was photos and information.

Who suggested a whip round and "Modeller of the year"????

   DOH!

he confessed so ok by me and the rc church

He confessed on an American Forum. And the only reason he confessed was because, like a spoilt brat having a tantrum, he felt that his ideas were not being taken seriously by the so-called big boys. So in order to gain attention he resorted to using a female pseudonym - which he milked and abused for all it was worth. Surely a sign of a person with some sort of mental disorder. And not once did he apologise to any Mayhem members for duping them so blatantly.
I still hold faith in the ingenuity and skills of the average British man. The sort of man with clever ideas and abilities to impart his knowledge freely without seeking payment or a need to feed an attention-seeking ego -- as opposed to some lying cheat with the sort of 'skills' that could have been gleaned just from watching Blue Peter many years ago.

No need to shout. Besides, being unashamed is your prerogative - nobody is blaming you.
Maybe the reason some folk are willing to have him back in the fold is nothing to do with olive branches at all. Maybe it's a cover for their embarrassment at being fooled so easily by a lady-boy. Maybe I'm totally wrong. Maybe our friend Roopesh is a closet politician. Maybe folk want him back simply because they like following those with a penchant for U-turns.

You asked "WHAT HAVE YOU MADE OUT OF SCRAP". This is getting a tad childish, but to sate your curiosity, most all my homemade gizmos are built from salvaged junk. For instance, I built the exact same keel/rudder propulsion system as his (Roopesh) back when I were ten or eleven years old. I've built several airframes from scrap plastic drainpipe material. I've built homemade windvanes and anemometers from scrap video mechanisms and auto speedometers. I've built deck lifts for model boats with scrap Meccano parts and cogs, etc., etc.......
But that's besides the point.
I love hanging out on the Mayhem forum as much as the next bloke. Mainly because there are members here that are waaaay superior in many, many ways. Of lot of clever folk here have unknowingly taught me a heck of a lot about boat building in general - all willing to share their knowledge at the drop of a hat. Your lady-boy friend, on the other hand, was posting pictures of painted fingernails and singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", obviously designed to fool you into thinking that those gadgets were indeed the work of a female.
Don't you  find that a little bit weird?

i have always stated that he was welcome back as far as i was concerned..never stated anything but, and i put the record straight now.......iDID NOT FEEL EMBARRASMENT IN ANY WAY........thought it was a hoot that he'd conned so many of us with some HARMLESS fun.
and it seems the only ones truly embarrased are those shouting loudest about NOT having him back......would you be so embarrased that you couldn't speak to him therefore.........don't think it'd bother him somehow, lol {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)

I'm with you on this one PMK.

If I was the victim of identity theft (prevalent nowadays) I would be very, very indignant. If I (or any member of my family), was the victim of fraudulent scammers, then I would be very irate. As it happens, I do feel defrauded by this "Mayhemmer of the Year".

Fraudulence is unforgiveable, because it is a deliberate act to deceive. This person set out to deliberately deceive. It also begs the question, whose (female) image did he use in his photographs. Hopefully the subject was acquiescent in their use. If not, the law was broken.

I feel that Admin should look extremely carefully into reintroducing a self confessed fraudster back to the forum, which is generally contributed to by good, honest members with a good, honest story to tell.

If one cannot post the truth through one's correct persona, then don't bother posting at all. <*<

Harmless fun? HARMLESS FUN??!
Please try to explain - in your nicest punctuation, if possible - just exactly what is funny about someone blatantly conning you? Man, I'd bet my bottom dollar that you yourself would be one of the first in the queue to jump down the throat of your local MP if he or she were caught fiddling their expenses, or perhaps somebody you know ripping you off in some way. Or would you put it down to a bunch of sheeple just having a bit of harmless fun as well?
The bottom lline is, Mr Roopesh is an out-and-out liar, devoid of even the remotest hint of decency running through his veins. If he means that much to you, then why not invite the dude to offer an apology to one and all at the very least?

personally I don't care if he comes back to the forum, I enjoyed some of his ideas & also had a chuckle to myself that he deceived so many so easily.
I don't see how what he did equates to an MP fiddling their expenses or someone ripping my family off. I don't think he did it in order to obtain any goods by deception, just a sad individual trying to get some attention & lets be honest, it worked didn't it!!
