Live radar site
« on: April 20, 2008, 07:12:34 pm »

Hi,

As a modeller I am also interested in ships in general. As a result I have found a brilliant web site. This is mainly in the Solent area and covers live radar ship positions and a wonderful  Webcam site looking from Ryde on the Isle of Weight to the mainland, there is also a video clip of Ventura arriving taken from a tug.

To access the site type in Solent AIS.

I hope this is of interest to others.

Thank you for that, very interesting, Hoverboy. I've had a look around and to make it easier for everyone, here is the site details.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for going one further.

One thing I will say though. Avoid the Solent web cams, they take a long time to down load and seldom work. The Ryde one is fantastic and never fails. All I can say is play with it and you will certainly find things interesting.

Went over to Lymington this morning, Pete. Had lunch there last summer and the weather was better.   ;)

All very quiet at the moment, but interesting all the same.
