I wanted to share some photos of some 1/200 warships that my buddy, Ivan, & his friends like to build & run down in Hong Kong.
Bismarck belongs to Mr. Cheung, the owner of Sunny Model, one of Hong Kong's musts for any model enthusiast if you are lucky enough to visit the city. Prinz Eugen is Ivan's scratch build on an Aeronaut hull. Not sure who owns the Voyage Model Nagato nor the USN BB, but Ivan has one of the VM kits which he's building now. These guys do some very nice work in Hong Kong!
Mr. Cheung mentioned that many Chinese model ship manufacturers are getting out of the kit business & wanting to sell only ARTR / RTR models due to theft / copying of their kits by other factories who produce for some big names we all know. Its shame to hear, but again, am not surprised since this is what I've been seeing in China since coming here 18 years ago. N
