I have sailed over both the Pontychisyllte and the Chirk aquaducts on the  Llangollen canal, both beutiful pieces of Victorian engineering. They were amongst the first aquaducts to use cast iron troughs.

Absolutely right!   I can't think what made me type "Crick" instead of Chirk.  Put it down to my brain being at a funny angle!   I'm on the boat at the mooring ATM and the locks are busy.   The only snag with my mooring spot is the ledge which catches the boat and tilts it when the level in the pound drops by more than a foot.  On the level again now though.

Cheers
