Hi Chad

I can recommend Jerry at Clevedon Steam.  He's here in the UK but I'm sure he posts to the US.  He has an ebay shop  http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Clevedon-Steam

He used to work for the late lamented Cheddar Models.   Another contact - for boilermaking - is http://www.cheddarvalleysteam.co.uk/ that's Tim Taschimowitz he's  the ex-Cheddar Models boilermaker.

In the USA you have Monahan Steam Models at:

http://www.monahansteammodels.com/

I have found one of the best suppliers in the UK who take Paypal as well so international sales are made easy is Steamfittings at:

Good point.  I'm well aware of Monahan's very nice looking engines but hadn't thought about them as a leftpondian supplier of bits!

I didn't know this website.  Nice looking stuff - now on my favourites list.

I actually find Steamfittings to be very competatively priced and exceptionally quick on delivery.

Stuart took over the engine and accessory side of the old Cheddar business but not the boilers.  The old Cheddar Boilers continue to be made by Cheddar Valley Steam.

Thanks guys {-) I haven't been on the forums in quite a bit now because I stopped working on my tug. Sure good to see it going as strong as ever.

Thank you for your input. I have a Hemmens V4 (got a good deal on it) and I'm trying to find fittings for it. The thing I noticed last night was, even though it uses 5/16 nuts and 40tpi the female ends measure out to be between 15/64 and 7/32. Is this normal? The only reason I ask is I need another union(nipple) to tap off of the boiler.

Once again thank you for all the links. It's so hard to find anything here in the US for steamaholics like me

I can't help with the fittings I'm afraid as I am not at home but here's a picture of mine.  Lovely engine.

Yeah I sure do like mine as well. One day I'm hoping to get ahold of a max4 but I have only seen one for sale in 10 years.

Hi chad,
If you have a John(Maxwell) Hemmens max v4 or caton v4 , contact John Hemmens he was the brilliant engineering mind behind these beautiful British built engines.
He will supply you with whatever you require in the way of steam fittings and pipework.

I know he does not make these engines at the moment but i do know he can supply all the correct size metric or M.E threaded components, also technical support and repair/refurbishment services.

Please check his web site as there are various ways to contact him personally, John's web site address is www.steamengines.co.uk

I hope this helps you

Another good stateside supplier of pipe, fittings, engines ( castings, machined kits) , boiler kits and pumps is PM Research, oilers etc..

Find them at http://www.pmresearchinc.com/

I am about to outfit a Maccsteam horizontal boiler with their displacement oiler( $24US) and a manual boiler fill pump( $51US) a machined kit that really looks the Stuart OEM pump in spirit if not in exact detail.

Coles also has many a live steam part. They do not have their catalog on line but do have a price list ( they have an extensive list!!) Check them out here

http://www.colespowermodels.com/engines.htm- they may be bes to call them in Texas...

later- I hope this helps

Thanks Mogogear.

I'm having Ken at Coles make some stuff for me now. Didn't know about the other place but it seems they have a good selection.

Is it hard to get a catalog from them? I have printed off the price list - Do I need to call them to order it? I am shopping for a refillable fuel tank stateside - Monahan has one listed - but no pictures and no specs- I see that Cole's has one also.. I would every now and then actually buy something from the States!! Just to save shipping etc..

Thanks Oiler
