Great pictures mate, the Jeeps are just the job, that one with the motorbike on the front is one of the originals I think, as it has a fabricated grill instead of a pressed one..........cheers for sharing them O0 O0..........Smudge

The small motorcycle on the front of the Jeep is a paratroopers collapsable motorcycle and was called the 'Wellbike'. It was dropped from the aircraft in a cannister and when removed, the seat pulled upwards and a pin was pushed through  the down tube to lock it in place, the long handle bars wer lifted upwards and also pinned to retain them. It was the forerunner to the 'Corgi' which was the domestic version sold to the domestic market just after the war. I had a 'Corgi',  re-built it and eventually used it for a short while on the road... didn't go, didn't stop and left one feeling very vulnerable but it must have been a real boon to a paratrooper.

It has the Bantam grill which is the original, jeep kind of stole the design fro ?Bantam and won the contract together with ford due to having mass production capabilities the ford was the GPW (general perpose willys) and is recognised by the scripted rear panel after the war Hotchkiss built them the M201 they kept everything the sam just reinforced the weak points in the chassis and they used them until the eighties. But now i'm older i prefer the dodge or Beep (big jeep) it has big sprung seats O0 and less of an inclination to try and kill you.
