Well as we get closer I hope you are all getting prepared.
Here is a list of activities we are planning (planning might be too strong a word !!!!)

Springer football (I will blow up the football this time), Straight running and club 500's on the small lagoon
Tugs, warships and anything else that floats on the large lagoon
OMRA (all classes welcome--come and show us mere mortals what you are capable of) on the main lake.
Bring and Buy Table, search out all the stuff you no longer want (try and keep it boating) sell it, and buy more stuff to take back with you.
There will be power available through out the day for battery charging.
Lots of boat chat on the Friday night for those that will be arriving (Tea and coffee on the go------) I'll be raiding my beer stock----(coded lock to keep Bill out !!!!)
BBQ and night sail on the Saturday night (bring something you can burn / cook---we will supply the fire----no not Stavs table--again)
The Odd spot prize as Stav and I spot---- something.
So don't delay, start getting those boats ready  :-)) :-)) :-))

Phil, Bradders says he hasn't got the tea/coffee cups from Wicksteed, we'll need to buy some more.

No problem with the cups I found them in my caravan so we are good to go.

Right better solve the beer shortage now.
New motor fitted to my crash tender----well I had to, I just tried to stick 12v into a small como motor (circ 1978 when I put it in) motor go------motor no go, slight panic as  I thought I had done for the Action ESC (cap in hand to Dave) but its fine, motor, not fine, well scrap now. Score so far this year 1 Decaperm---Fried,  1 como motor---Fried.
I really should stick to steam.
Lets see what else I can destroy before next week.  :embarrassed:

I've broken pretty much everything since Wicksteed (or at Wicksteed) so I'll be lucky to have one running at the moment...

Still it doesn't matter because at last Llanberis I only found the time to run 2 boats, the Hellcat and the Perkasa in the night sail. The car will be a lot emptier though, more room for beer :-)) :-)) :-))

OK Heres one for you all.
I am going to be heading up the M6 for Llanberis with my caravan on. My sat nav wants me to take the Telford A5 way. Last year I went right up to the M56 and round the top which seem a long way round especially when I m only doing 27MPG when towing. Has anyone got a good way to get to Llanberis??

A roughish route

M6 to the m54 telford  onto Shrewsbury  then the A5 to Oswestry , then think the a183 llangollen (maybe the a5 as well)  head towards Betws-y-coed  carry on to Capel Curig (a5) a 4086  to Nant Peris  straight to Llanberis.  aprox 190 miles .

Please Note this is only a rough route but would get you there  but they are windy rounds at times and a bit slower than the other way  ..May save about 40-50 miles

This is the route I always used to take to N Wales. It is all dual carriageway or M way until the turn off at Bangor.
I would avoid the A5 up through Llangollen. The road is good in places, but you are going over the mountains, instead of around them. All these hills will drink petrol.

M6 to the M54. M54 continues on to become A5.
A5 until Chirk then join the A483 This is a big roundabout.
A483 until just south of Chester, join A55 N Wales.
A55 until just outside Bangor. Then follow signs for Llanberis for the last 5-6 miles.

Thanks for the route, TT. My problem is that, having found Llanberis, we don't know exactly how to get to the rally site and/or what time it kicks off. I guess Stavros is up to his ears in organising things, so any info on here might serve useful to others too. Over to you, Phil.

From Bangor direction.

Once you get on the A4086 you will pass the Llanberis village sign. Stay on the A4086, do not go into the village.
You will pass the Electic Mountain powerstation visitor centre on the left, and the lake is on the left. About 200m past the visitors centre there is a left turn. There is only one left turn. This is next to the bus shelters. Drive down this road a few hundred meters to the 'T' Junction. Turn left this road will take you into the slate museum car park.

From the Southerly direction.
A 4086. You will pass the entrance for the Snowdon Mountain Railway on your left. About a hundred meters futher on the right is the turn for the National Slate museum. Next to the Bus shelters on the right. There is only one right turn. Drive down this road a few hundred meters to the 'T' Junction. Turn left this road will take you into the slate museum car park.

I am planing on being there by lunch time FRIDAY. I think Phil and Stav will be there from Friday morn. Most of the boating is on Sat & Sun. Times?? Well I think it's down to when you want to be there. Don't forget the night sail on Sat night. Bring your boats with all the lights on. If you don't have any lights on your boats then pop out this weekend and rig some up. I realy is good fun and thats what the weekend is all about. FUN FUN FUN!

What is the situation regarding drinking/washing water?

Somebody suggested bringing our own, but 2 x 40 Litre caravan Aquaroll's full will play havoc with the nose-weight loading of the caravan...Chief Contable Richard Brunstom will be having kittens...

Is there an outside drinking water tap at the Slate Museum car park or somewhere else near that we can use?

Either way, I'm not showering in the stuff from the lake... O0 O0

I have just been talking to Stav and he tells me there is Clean drinking water to be use by the car park toilets. So NO need to bring water with you at all.
