Doesn't Andy McCue at Scoonie Hobbies produce an Orca kit?

He might be able to help.

Here is mine (not me in the background)

I love this boat, was a great fan of the film. It has taken since Xmas to get to this position, It now has rigging, a shark cage, and a great smoke generator which comes out of the exhaust. I bought it already made, but it looked nothing like this when I got it. The best source of accurate information to duplicate the boat is http://www.createforum.com/operationorca/posting.php?mforum=operationorca
These guys really helped me, the full build log is here. The Orca is infact a lobster boat, and I think Scoonies do have a kit. I have been told that my boat is a Traplett kit, the hull isnt quite right, but when in the water its hard to tell
It was a real hard job getting the right paint, Orca has a very slight green tint to it, In USA its called "seasick green" I had the paint specially mixed at B&Q.
If you need any info pm me, but do take a look at the operation orca website, there is a vast amount of info, and some really nice models

I could not resist doing this video! just got to work out how to tow a shark ;D

The cabin lights work off 6v, the led's are 12v (look cool with the smoke generator running) O0

Hi Pm

What you need is to keep the tow line below water.  To this end, you need a metal bar connected to the stern, protruding out below the water level, that won't foul the prop. Then connect a small chain to the bar and lead out to the shark.

That way, the connection will be unseen, but when you slow down the weight of the chain will make the shark pull up to the boat.  Frightening, or what.  8)

Thanks Ken I have now fitted a small micro servo horn on the side of the hull, above the water line so no probs with leaks, but small enought to be hidden when painted, then I have used some thin guage servo link, with a z bend, so its easy to fit or take off, going into the water.Just need some chain now (think the bath plug might donate this ;D).. got to hide this from the missus as she thinks I have completely gone mad, but tesco had rc sharks, swim forward and left/right, and dives, for a tenner, couldnt resist it! :embarrassed:
