anybody know is there is a scale diffrence between the billings  p.o.f
zwarte zee and the plastic hulled one?
i just won a p.o.f zwarte zee of epay for $155.00  and the guy stated it was
1/100 scale, now listed here in the tug kit section is the plastic hull at 1/90 scale
it really is not a problem as i' going scale it up to 1/50  ::) :D i was just wondering

Hello Bigford!
Perhaps not the best answer, but someone else will surely come to rescue. I read on a danish site about a guy who built the p.o.f kit. He says it's in a smaller scale than the plastic hull one, so you are probably right. It's worth a visit to this site as he has built a lot of Billings kits to a very high standard, very informative also.Don't have a link, but google "Soren Kjaer Nielsens" and you get there.
Hope this helps!

well at 1/100 scale enlarging to 1/50 should yield a 71" ship
larger then the rotterdam :D

Scale on plan of Billings ZZ is quoted as 1:100, Keel actually measures 30 and 1/8" long and beam on plan is 4 and 7/8"  IE. 765 X 123 mm

Hi, I have just started the Zwarte Zee, plastic hull version, and the scale is 1:90. I have a couple of sets of drawings for her, one is the Smit's drawing for model makers and the other is a very detailed set from VTH in Germany both at 1:100. Might be worth considering as they show some additional detail to the Billings set.

Hi bigford , i built the plastic hull kit a few years ago and then sold it at Blackpool a few years ago ,but earlier this year i had a p.o.f version and i felt it was a bit smaller than the plastic one  maybe by about 3 inches in length .
