It wasn’t like this in my day, you know…oh no, back in my days in the 1st AMS Regiment, we had a proper radio compartment to work in. Old John Darnell used to provide us with a big fibreglass box with plenty of room inside it for four servos, rx, battery packs, ballast tanks, and room to get your hands inside to work on the thing. Now what do we get? A length of plastic tube no more than two and a quarter inches in diameter and a foot or so long to try and wedge everything in…and to make it all work.
By God sir, back in my days we had room to move inside the watertight compartments, not trying to squeeze all these bits inside these damm tubes. I can remember my old Company Sergeant Major saying to me “if this is progress boy, then damm well shoot me”.
It’s all those damm fuzzie wuzzie’s fault, you know…Good Lord sir, if I was back in the regiment now I’d soon alter things.
