Right then ive had a browse about and havent come up with much.

Where do people get there worm gears, rack & pinions, spur gears, big cogs, little cogs and so on etc etc etc 
Some examples of working gear systems or cog/rack set-ups would be of great help.

Now i do understand how the above work etc (so i dont come over as a complete plonker) and wonder how others work with gear systems, cogs and wheels and most importantly where to get different sizes for different jobs.

Come on get you cameras out

I generally use old Mecanno bits and pieces - Much cheaper than buying new!

A search for Mecanno on Fleabay will turn up all sorts....

Try a model railway shop. All those little trains have cogs and worms and stuff.
Same thing applies to linkages...use the model aero guys. Its all there if you look for it. A bit of legwork is more satisfying tan just lobbing a Q &A onto this site. Otherwise, how could you answer a question?

Get yourself an old broken large office copier, so many gears racks chains belts and motors , cheap too!!
