Help with air-brush
« on: October 29, 2008, 09:49:09 am »

Help!
I have an double action airbrush that will not play by the rules. As we know, on a double action air-brush, push down for air, then pull back for paint. Mine just goes direct to paint! I have tried to adjust things to get it to behave, but it's all or nothing...
On the understanding that this type of air-brush is pretty much the same set up, what ever the make, I'm guessing there has to be some one here that can help out here. The one I have is a Güde, which I dont think you can find in England. Pretty well known in europe I think.

It does, sound like you have one of the passages plugged up, or it wasn't reassembled properly after cleaning or if it uses the tiny o rings to seal the various parts one is bad or a bent needle. As paint is coming out when it is hooked up I would check the area around the trigger mech. As I had a similar problem, years ago. And a friend that used nothing but airbrushes. said to clean it good soaking it in cleaning fluid for the paint type used.
And then with a blow gun on an air line blow out all the passages and replace the needle (could be bent) not allowing it to function fully. And the o rings after making sure the passages are cleared and it worked fine.
Turned out that it doesn't take much for a bent needle to mess things up.

On the paint only comes out when I push the button down, not when its just connected.
Its a new air-brush and has been used once. After use it was purged with clean thinners.
My problem is that there was no manual with it, so I do not know how to adjust it.

Taking it apart to clean it was what got me in this mess in the first place.

Is it just a case of playing with the needle's placering in the holder?
Any other ideas.

Well then can you find out if the maker has a web site they may have manuals on the web. From what you have said it does sound like it could be just put back together wrong.
Don't known if this is it but they do have a couple of airbrush compressors . My German is Non-extant
http://www.guede.ws/home/start.html More than likely it is made by another company and they just put their brand on it.

Here is one of the brands I have and they have a download page http://www.iwata-medea.com/resources/index.jsp
This is another one I i have
http://www.hobbylinc.com/airbrush/badger-airbrush.htm
This is another that i have
http://www.paascheairbrush.com/

Started out with one and moved up over the years the fist on I have is over 25 years old. and would work if the o rings were replaced
One of the parts or FAQ sections should get you going or find out who made the air brush.

He he.
I did what I tend to do in these situation; took the needle outagain, cleaned it, put it back together again.
Before putting the cover on I tried to fiddle abit with the needle in the needle chuck, before tightening it down.

Air brush working as should. Why could it not have done that the first tn times I tried it??? <*<

Oh well Problem solved.
