The Subpirates site is working fine now. There were some issues for a few days when it crashed and the forum database was lost. A back up which was about 3 weeks old has been installed and it is all fine now. If your are a trying to login but you keep getting bumped, you need to clear your cache and cookies on your browser and it shouls work fine. If you are a paid member but cannot see the paid member section, it is probably because your deatil haven't been updated. Send Ralph an email to have it put right, theres a thread on the General section about it which you should be able to see.

Jinks if you haven't paid any money just re-register. As Mankster says the site has had serious problems with a loss of a couple of weeks of data due to a server migration that went absolutely pear shaped due to a hard drive failure.

last time i was on there, about a month ago there was only one forum open to view, everything else was locked to all except paid members.
they seem to be having problems over there, have gander at "i heard a rumour" on RC groupsforum, thats if you can make sense of what is occuring.

It all seems to be running ok now, just been over there for look around and there's a fair portion of the old data back online, a lot of the old postings are still working ok too.

I thought a lot of stuff was locked down awhile ago and only accessible to paying members.

I thought a lot of stuff was locked down awhile ago and only accessible to paying members.

That happened about a month ago, The sites costs were going up due to excess bandwith, and income from banners and members weren't enough to cover costs and wenmaster fees. Now the onsite hosting pictures have been dropped and access to non members restricted to reduce bandwith. Also webmastering duties have been transfered to a volunteer member and there was a server migration as well. At the moment there are around 200 or so paying members which is pretty good for a neiche hobby. The Subcommitte which has been around for nearly 20yrs and has  has a quarterly magazine and regattas in addition to the forum, has about 1000 paying members.
