Rubber mouldings.
« on: October 11, 2006, 12:40:35 pm »

I need a rubber moulding to go round the top of my Thames Police Launch so when the kids bounce it off the side of the pond it won't get too scratched!

Looking for "D" profile about 10mm wide...anyone know where I might get some?

Also I take back all I said about building in wood, the results are really good, and it weighs less than my other model of the same length which has a fibreglass hull.
I ended up giving the outside a couple of coats of epoxy resin and once rubbed down the finish is perfect.

I'll post some pics when she is done, cheers.

Some draught excluders.

I have got a 'D' profile in 5mm/ 10mm and 12mm sizes in the past.

It was grey in colour, but could be painted.

However it is a hollow profile, not solid rubber.

Hi

I believe modelslipway do a 'D' moulding for their lifeboat kit, I've seen it up at the Warwick show, they sell it by the metre if remember correctly and its the proper stuff to a reasonable scale. Hope this helps.
