MAKING GRATING
« on: January 30, 2009, 08:46:54 am »

Hi, enclosed is a photo of some grating made for me some years ago from obeche' timber and each "square" measures approximately 9mm with the "hole" in the centre being 3mm, making each strip 3mm square.
It was made for me for my 1:12th  lifeboats but am running out slowly and would like some more.
I have searched around but no one can supply at such a large scale.
Can anyone get their minds gong and give me an idea please as to how to VERY ACCURATLEY make a jig for producing such a grating in "knock down" form,as each strip would have the same gap to raised bit every measurement and cut, or the whole thing would not go together. Alternatively does anyone know of someone who would manufacture such an item in large size.
Many thanks.
Neil. :-)) :-))

this is what it looks like in it's "raw" state before being cut into strips equal in width to the slots. %)
