thanks martin i think i will go with the syphon way
i did not realy want to put the syphon end through the boat hull because dont want to cause drag or is this the best place for it ? can i come out of the back as low as poss

No drag and works well
I have used a full brass tube instead of waterline. Reverse it and you have a no drag water inlet.
