Thanks guys you've all been so helpful. BB those are the exact issues which I am wrestling with and thankyou for your advice

, the issues aren't imossible to overcome but they will make things very difficult. Coming up with a new market or creating something radically new will never be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is eh

. It is likely that I will spend this year only working on my 1:1250 projects, researching the RC market and hopefully building up enough capital to make a go of it. In the end, even if things flop, I can still look for a day job (like all my friends will be doing after graduating this may) and it looks like the 1:1250 market is still going strong. So, I'm willing to take a few risks, but only very well calculated ones

.
Don't make the mistake of bypassing the old Farts as they are the one's at the water showing the public RC Modelling
( with a lot of younger farts ) LOL.
Mick, "old fart" is a state of mind ;-), they're generally the picky grumpy ones. I have met wonderful people in the hobby of all ages, and fartyness has nothing to do with the length of one's beard

.
The only way I'm going to know for sure is to do what I did with my first 1:1250 ship. Albeit on a slightly bigger, riskier and more expensive scale. That is, spend some money designing and building one, try to sell 'em and if they sell well then try another. At least that way if it doesn't go well I won't have a massive bank loan to repay and a big empty unit to heat (though the rate my other models are going a small unit is now a must!)
Will.
