HFM Pilot Boat Gear advice
« on: March 20, 2009, 04:45:28 pm »

Hi All

I've just bought a hfm models pilot/police boat kit to build for my son's first boat,can anyone give me some advice on what size moror/battery pack to fit to give a reasonable performance with a decent time between recharging?.
I've got a quick charger already so gel cells or nimh's etc are not a problem......

many thanks all.

Any info eg prop and shaft size would also help,many thanks for this.How did your painting go?,did the paint adhere to the plastic ok as past experience has shown it flakes off on some plastics.

cheers once again....

BUT A WORD OF ADVICE always ask the wife if she is going to have a bath before you start you test as I have had a few fall-outs !!!!

And don't fill the bath too high just because you can get a view of the boat. If you do, even at half throttle, much of the bath water willl end up on the floor, and eventually in the kitchen......  {:-{
