Hulltom,
What type of kit are you looking for, ready to run boat, static model, plastic kit to convert, hull ready made,
etc the list is long.
What type of boat,if you can define a bit clearer, then people can put you in right direction

Was looking for sort of coaster/modern tanker/cargo sort of thing. The only one ive managed to find at a reasonable price is the Imex Nedlloyd rouen roro ship :)

Model Slipway do a couple of versions of a modern(ish) coaster. A nice build, too.
Suit yourself.

If your looking for something to sail but not to costly I would suggest scanning the web for this kit http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/graupner_neptun.html to get a better price. I have seen them for £55. There is a separate fittings kit, but that can be added later on.

You can pick up A two channel radio set for £25, motor £3, speed controller for around £10-£15, battery pack £5-£10 (all prices are for new products). If you shop around the second hand market you could save a good few quid, just make sure they are trustworthy sources. I keep looking at this kit myself, but have to many things on the go for now. With enough hulls stacked up to keep me busy for the next 7 or 8 years,(don't we all {-) {-) {-)) O0.

Just been reading about the Neptune model at cornwall models about moving the superstructure. Sorry to sound dumb but does that mean instead of having the bridge etc in the moddle of the ship you could have it at the rear of the ship??  :-)

Yes you can. It fits over the mid-ships hatch or the aft one as you desire. The aft crane and hatch cover then go over the midhips hatch. It looks good in either mode, clever engineering by Graupner.  :-))

Hi Hulltom,

As you can see with "Seamariners" photos (thanks mate :-))), you will be able to put the structure on the rear giving the modern cargo ship you asked for. It's as cheap as you can get as a kit to fit your requirements. With a little scratch building you could remove the cranes and put any cargo on it you like, box containers, run pipe work to make it look more like an oil tanker, paint it differently and put military supplies on it (jeeps, tanks, aircraft). Imagination and building fittings is your only limitting factor. O0
