Hi All, i have a kyosho fairwind , but now woul dlike a IOM to have fun and race at norwich boat park, woul dlike do make a kit one again so far looking at kyosho seawind or thunder tiger etnz, any advice which one is best? or if you know any others that are forgiving iand are iom in that type of price, thanks lads in advance ..glen

I seem to remember reading a review that the Thunder Tiger ETNZ doesn't like high winds.

Glen,
Kingston Mouldings offer a reasonably priced IOM hull, the 'Spirit'. Not for the top racers, ideal for the club events, this is reflected in the price. You will still have to buy the fittings, sails etc from the model yacht suppliers.

Have a look at the Graupner Trueblue, not a bad kit, won't keep up with an IOM, but more sail area than a seawind, and a nice hull shape.

    However, to have the most fun, get what the other guy has, that way the racing is closer, and it's best thumbs wins, not just best boat.

If you really want an IOM kit, then there's always the Robbe Windstar.
Buy the rig and sails from one of the 'real' IOM places, and you've got a nice boat.
You can replace the fin, bulb and rudder later with c/f at a later date ( kit bulb is minimum weight ).
  The design is a few years old, but Brad Gibson did OK with one!
