I have to say I had a great time time at this event. Ok the weather was a bit iffy at the start, but it cleared up, the rain stopped, the wind dropped (every now and then) and the the tea tent was up and running (you all should know how much I like my tea)
All the local clubs were there, very well supported and with some very fine models. There were always models on the pond, so never a dull moment, I even got chance to put my springers on.
Then did a little straight running demo with my steam boat (congrats to Stavros, who yet again put himself at the sharp end---as it were, and helped stop, he's now in hidding saying dark things about me). I think it showed what a steam boat can do !!!!!
Also ran my other straight runner with one of Marks MMB900 motors in, yup that had a few comments, Mark was impressed, in fact so was I (and its my boat) so I bought some more--------.
For me though, the best thing I saw (and there were a lot of good boats there) was Bob Abel's "Great Eastern" this is a large model (and heavy !!!) and really looks the part on the water. Good news is he will be at Llanberis in a few weeks.
A great day, my thanks go to all at the Colwyn bay for the invite and I look forward to next year.
Sorry I never got chance to take any photo's, but with any luck someone will have and can post them.
