What is it ??
« on: June 29, 2009, 10:57:06 am »

I picked this project up at Wings & Wheels (Bring & Buy) over the weekend. Does anyone know what it is ?
About 3 foot long & fibreglass construction in 3 parts.

Alfie the Lurcher hasn't a clue !!

Looks like a Hydrofibre / Mayflower models DOMINATOR to me....
Here's my write of the Predator, (same boat, different top):

That is the first boat I ever had...........ah those were the days. If I remember correctly you have to buy the shaft separately however I could be wrong its was nearly 30 years ago

It is indeed the Dominator, a very well sought after boat in its day.
they had a waiting list for these boats to be built.

Hydrafibre made their boats with very sharp spray rails and they were all good quality boats.

The dominator was often seenon  ponds and lakes fitted with Austro webra 61engines powering them.
They were very good boats, nice and stable and in those days a good size boat.
Although the add says 40, most were fitted with the 10cc size engine as the boat could handle it.

like siad above, the good old days  ha ha    hp gold cup or silver star 40 was also a engine often seen in them.

and they cost about £40 back then,  and that was a lot of money in the late 70's early 80's

Ive seen one with the old gannet petrol engine of 15cc, it went very nice
