Having built an airboat to Boatmadmans instructions my thoughts have strayed to Winter (could be something to do with the weather outside) often our lake is covered in ice. I was pondering the idea of making a cradle that could be held to the airboat with elastic bands having a ski at the front and two ski's at the back to have fun with on the ice.
Has anyone gone down this road or should I just put the idea in the dustbin before people think I am really mad

I'm sure something similar was done a few years ago that also stated that it would run on wet grass !!!!.
Give it go, it has to be worth trying (you could also try adidng some wheels-----air car)
Or have I now gone mad as well

That might be a good idea Ian, perhaps after I have mastered the art of sailing this one the right way up

I put my airboat on the ice at Largs last winter - it was extremely fast and totally uncontrollable and kept bouncing off the concrete pond edges. Find a
very
large lake, or get yourself some reverse thrust somehow.

you could always buy a cheap RC truck and drive it on the ice

Mmmm bouncing of pond side, not very good for balsa air boat, but wheels on the air boat for the ice, that sounds like a good idea, seeing as I have a whole box full of them
