Lifeboat, Spirit of Blyth & Wansbeck
« on: September 01, 2009, 03:01:32 pm »

Can anyone help I need to find out how far the deck is below the top of the bulwarks along the length of the boat. Blyth is a long trip from home, I have got the hull, deck houses and photographs but no plan as she was built as a private boat
 thanks Les

I take that this vessel is the private venture one, the one that was at Caister, as the RNLI took away
the Trent that was based at Blyth & left a Rib. See what I can do, cant promise because there is a Gatehouse at the entrance to the moorings.

Sorry for the mistake, the first posting did not go.Took myself off to Blyth only to find that she has been moved, she is Surrounded by high fencing & barbed wire & the viewing is completely obscured.
I have since googled Blyth Volunteer LifeBoat, Caister (Norfork) L/B & they should be able to give you some info. Also the vessel was fitted out by Goodchilds Marine Services, Burgh Castle. I do not know
at this time if I know any of the crew or any other people connected with this craft that I can call on.
If I do I will let you know. It looks like I may have to make an appointment when someone will be there to let me on board,

Hi Les, This pic may assist you. The top of the deck will be flush with the bottom edge of the scuppers, so hopefully you will be able to work out the deck level that way.

Hi Charlie,
That drawing is just the job, with the photographs and a favourable reply from the builders I think I can get going.
  Thanks again
