Oldies but goodies

Please Help.

I have three model boats

1) Vosper Fast Patrol Boat built from a Veron kit. Measures 52" in length, powered by a 61 cu Merco engine

2)M.T.B built from scratch from Model Maker Plans Service. Measures 36" in length powered by a 25 cu engine(no longer present).

3)Fairmile IIO C Type, again built from scratch from M.M.P.S. Measures 55" in length powered by a 35 cu engine(no longer present).

All three boats were built by my father in the early 70'S and have not been in the water since. They now sit in my Mum's shed in desperate need of repair.

I have no experience with Models of any kind and no idea were or how to start to bring these boats back to life but would dearly love to see them in the water again( i was about 2 last time).

If anyone is willing to have a look or offer any advice i would be very grateful.
I am local to Norwich, Norfolk but would be willing to travel to meet anyone who thinks they can help.

Cheers

Are you intending to work on them yourself? If so, running I/C engines needs a bit of experience. It may be worth considering converting one or more to run on electric motors, which are capable of quite fast speeds nowadays. But if you can get some photos up - showing the insides and underside of the hull as well as the top - we will have a much better idea of what's possible....

Welcome Steve,
As the chaps have said a couple of pics would be helpful. And as dodgy geezer has said, with modern electric motors you would get the performance the boats need, also with Eaton Park just down the road you would have some where to run them (I'm not if they have restrictions regarding IC engines these days) You could contact the Norfolk and Norwich Model boat club.
Enjoy the mad world of model boating
