Hello to all Mayhemers
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:50:56 pm »

I thought it's about time I joined the Mayhem, Ive been reading with interest for a while and have at last got around to registering. A little about my model boating first.

I built my first boat nearly 40 years ago by scaling up a tiny drawing from a magazine. Powered by a red Mecano motor the rudder was set and across the lake she went! Great fun. There have been a few boats in between but not many. I have built and still do a lot of RC aircraft. The reason for my renewed interest in boats is that my 13 year old son wanted to build a submarine and with a bit of help from his dad he built HMS Unseen from a free plan in MMI sub special. HMS Unseen had its maiden voyage last week and it was outstanding success  O0 first time out.

At the same time as building the sub I also put together a small yacht, something I've wanted to do for years, this also sailed for the first time the other day and sailed like a dream. I'm also refurbishing and old SHG Shadow to see how it goes on a brushless outrunner, can't wait to try this one. Just

I hope I've not bored anybody, bye now.
