I thought it's about time I joined the Mayhem, Ive been reading with interest for a while and have at last got around to registering. A little about my model boating first.
I built my first boat nearly 40 years ago by scaling up a tiny drawing from a magazine. Powered by a red Mecano motor the rudder was set and across the lake she went! Great fun. There have been a few boats in between but not many. I have built and still do a lot of RC aircraft. The reason for my renewed interest in boats is that my 13 year old son wanted to build a submarine and with a bit of help from his dad he built HMS Unseen from a free plan in MMI sub special. HMS Unseen had its maiden voyage last week and it was outstanding success
first time out.
At the same time as building the sub I also put together a small yacht, something I've wanted to do for years, this also sailed for the first time the other day and sailed like a dream. I'm also refurbishing and old SHG Shadow to see how it goes on a brushless outrunner, can't wait to try this one. Just
