New Shipmate requires help with forum
« on: November 27, 2009, 04:57:48 pm »

Hi to you all,

I am new to the forum but have been modeling boats now for 2yrs. Have on the slip a 1:32 scale (55.5inch) Chant just started and a Leander Class frigate (Cleopatra exocet) from Sirmar which also is not far into the build. Paul is a great guy but rather than pester him all the time decided to try Mayhem for support. I do not build fast as disabled but get to the end eventually.

Can I ask is it allowed to put an ongoing photo file of your model build with notes on the forum and if so how?. Silly question but new to this forum thing and looking for help not only with the build at times but also with the computer side of things till I get the hang of things.

Hi Baz,
Welcome to Mayhem and all it's helpful members ;).  We all look forward to seeing photos of whatever you are building but the photos have to be resized before the site will accept them.  The programme that I use for my photos is PIXresizer and, once you get used to it, it is easy to use.  Just Google the name and you will get the free download :-))
Happy boat building O0.
Derek.

We love builds with photos on the forum.

The easiest way to put photos on is probably to use Photobucket.

Just post your builds under the correct section of

Dry Dock: Show everyone your New Builds, Rebuilds, Upgrades, Modifications - - - Mayhem Master Classes.

Baz,

Not only is it allowed, it is positively encouraged.

Post away, include a few photographs, make your comments and ask your questions.

When I sent you your "Welcome Message" I enclosed some guidance on how to post, here it is again.  http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11159.msg126104#msg126104

If you have problems or want more help send me a PM or ask any Moderator, that is one of the things we are here for.
