Hi all,
   I have nearly completed from scratch a 30" long 8" beam Windamere pleasure Launch,and have really enjoyed the build (my first attempt) picking up a
   great many tips and helpful ideas from the mayhem web site,but when it comes to electronics things get very foggy ( and I keep getting lost in the fog), thing's like how many Amp's does it draw and fail safe etc. Anyhow I have just purchased the Spektrum dx5e system and have acquired a job lot of R/C gear, these are;
  Mtroniiks Viper marine 15 (not plug and play)
  Ener g pro nimh 7.2 v sc-3300 H flat 6 cell
  ( no make) nimh 10.8 1000mah (130) 9 cell
   5 new hi-tec servos
Q.1. Can I use these units with the spektrum.
Q.2. could you recommed a suitable motor (no speed needed)
Q.3.Is there such a thing as a bog standered diagram that shows you what goes where and does what.
Q.4. Am I showing my ignorance and you are all sick of answering the same old quistions.

Q1  Yes
Q2  A 15 volt 5 pole speed 400 or 385 should be adequate with either battery.  Probably more than adequate with the 10.8 volt one, but with a much shorter run time.  Just a question of fitting an appropriate prop.
Q3  Diagrams.  Navigate to "Electrics and all things black art", got to "Miscellaneous" and open "Wiring Diagrams".  Its a "sticky" thread, and thus will not move.
Q4  To quote someone else, there is no such thing as a stupid question, until after it has been answered, and the questioner ignores the answer and asks it again.  If it needs explaining a different way, that's OK, as is not being able to find the answer in the first place.

There is a misconception that any particular motor will pull a given current from a given battery.  This is untrue - much depends on the load, and this is determined by the load imposed by the prop.

These are items I have used in my tramp steamer and trawler which are  just over 30 inches long.
