Merry Christmas to all Mayhemmers,
Recently bought the plans to this handsome, pointy looking beastie (the 1974 one metre long, Aurora Inglesi 10cc IC engined design),
and cannot make up my mind if its intended to be a stepped hull, at bulkhead B7 where the propshaft exits the hull ?

Having spotted at least 4 old Auroras for sale on Fleabay over recent years, I'm hoping someone may have the answer !
This gets complicated and difficult to put into words from here onwards, if you are not familiar with this particular plan.

Here goes for anyone still with me - Bulkhead B8 has a flat keel area at its base,
and in plan view the keel at B7 appears to be a flat, approx 2'' wide, planeing step tapering to nil at the transom.
All above points to a single stepped mono hull, and would help to explain why it was so fast way back in the 70's.

However a slightly iffy plan side elevation of this detail, coupled with hardly any constructional detail leaves me unsure.
Is there anyone alive out there in Mayhemland who might remember and have the answer please? - now back to the mincepies.
Happy New Year regards Paul

Hello Paul, Mr Zippy - not having these plans - but - I have built a similar hull - many many moons ago.  It was the Musketeer designed by Vic Smead.

These were very early multi-racing class hulls in the early design stages.   A lot of them did incorporate a 'dagger plate' just forward of the prop tube.  One of its purposes was to prevent the model from flipping over on tight turns.

If your plans are not very clear, this is what you may be looking at .  It seems strange that you get a bad copy of a plan from 'myhobbiestore' as they are usually very clear.  I myself have purchased plans from Ebay and have been extremely disappointed only to find that they quoted on ebay as being original plans to find out they had been photocopied.   One thing which does nark me about Ebay are the PLAN COPIERS.

So, have a look it may be a dagger plate you are looking at.
