These are examples what folk who have dyslexia "see" and can read with care: note the first and last letters are largely correct but the letters in between are jumbled.

A true scan-reader/speed-reader would read these and not notice anything wrong and yet be able to understand exactly what they said.

Curiously, I type like this yet hand-write without difficulty.

The human brain is a marvel!

Well theres a funny thing. It make sense to me but then I know i have a dyslexia problem.  Anyway the point is if that was the last message you was going to read to stop you getting into danger then you would understand it and move out of the way fast.  It is not how it is spelt but how the important message gets across.

PMK......I have previously offered gramatical assistance.....  but a number of your member folk took question

Yep, Limeys' are prone to that particular foible, bless 'em.

As an aside, is it just me to notice the irony?......
The next time you find yourself in that Court of Law, maybe you could have a friendly word in the ears of Mssrs. Meehan & Tulloch, perhaps remind them about the apostrophe, and how Somerset Grammaticals differ with theirs in as far as Som. Grmmtcs would have you include said apostrophe between the 'h' and the 's', as per "Butterworths Guides"

........if taht maeks snese.

Ah, but can we be SURE that the Guides were not written by more than one Butterworth in which case the apostrophe would be AFTER the 's'.
In fact, as Derek is now the owner of said tome, are the Butterworths entitled to ANY apostrophe as it no longer is "belonging to them".  ;)

Cheers

Absolutely. You are, of course, bang on.
As for my part, whether by accident or design, I still couldn't help a nifty chuckle when I seen the apostrophe-less "Butterworths" and "Grammar" at the same time........... (you know what I mean).
I'm perhaps just stabbing in the dark here, but do you get the impression - albeit a teeny-weeny one - that our man Down Under (Derek) is really a pen-name/pseudonym for Mssr. Tulloch?
Derek:
If you are earwigging, and if there is indeed any weight behind my suspicions , then may I be so bold as to ask you for: 1) your autograph, and 2) a free copy of your book?

(I'll even put you in contact with a very learned modeller for in return that you dare be so brave as to suggest to some folk that they might start inserting a comma just prior to writing, say, any name. They tend to get really, REALLY irked if you mention that particular one.)

If pendantic existed, and meant what it 'ought' to mean, I know which I'd rather be!
