Hi
I cannot vouch for all three plans, but, the first plan of the semi-scaled Air Sea Rescue Launch was originally a contender for the plan for the beginner article, in the master class build. I proceeded as far as drawing sections of the plan out onto building material and then I stopped. The reason being after talking with my son, and some lateral thinking I thought this would only appeal to a set number of people - which was defeating the main principle behind the plan for the beginner. This plan will be okay, if you are going to build it and have, say, your young relations helping out and learning the art of modelling and using tools. The model is in itself, very basic, but it leaves a lot which may be added onto it etc.
If you are looking for a plan to keep the younger generation interested – look for a project along the lines of something which can move pretty fast and if it is for girls it has to be capable of putting a Sindy doll in, or even a ‘fluffy bear’ in. If its for the lads, maybe Action man could go in and it has to be even faster.
This seems to keep the younger generation interested.
Have a look at some of Glynn Guest’s plans – he has a couple which are, shall we say, very inviting.
