Right I've found this;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IMax-B6-AC-Lipo-NiMh-battery-Balance-Charger-Adapter-/170410865564?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ad47739c

Looks ok, comes with a power adapter, most of them you had to buy seperate!

You have checked the postage? Brings the total up to around £34, or more, depending on how Paypal convert. I'm always a bit cautious about buying from Hong Kong.

Here is a similar one from Giant Cod at £33.19 - and it's 6amp, not 5. I suggest browsing the Giant Cod site before chasing things off ebay....

You can fit as big a motor as you can physically get in the boat!

 Contrty to poppular belief, you can over power a boat, (car, plane, anything...) and although it may work it maybe just
 too powerful, uncontrollable, too much to the torque reaction and just unpleasant to run... bit like fitting a 2 lite engine
 to a lawn mover, fun but impractical.......

That makes sense! Just wondered as a friend has put various engines in his rc car!

What about the esc? Would that need upgrading?

Maybe not, because you may already have the spare current capacity.
 (In my book, your ESC should always have twice the capacity of the motor stall current.)

Right,
You will NOT need to upgrade anything with the Warrior.....They are so fast they can be uncontrollable, believe me. I took mine to the lake this morning with a lighter battery in and it scared me, I had literally to look 100 yards in advance before applying the power, in case I hit a duck at 50mph. I am not joking or bragging, these boats are seriously fast. Another club member bought his new Joysway cat to the lake, borrowed one of my batteries and flipped it backwards from a standing start........I thought it was about to fly vertically...please just be patient, get yours set up and then if you're not satisfied with the power and speed......take up bungee jumping or some thing  :} :}

You might be looking to buy something slower and not so nerve racking after playing with the Warrier  ok2 :-)

Wow I guess I just can't imagine it being that fast!

And my friend keeps going on about his upgraded car!

You have got me excited!

PS how was the new battery?

The batteries were just fine, nice and light compared to the suggested ones, didn't last as long obviously but the adrenalin rush compensates for that  :-)

There are many videos on YouTube about the Warrior, here is just one of them taken at a club just up the road from me at Rugeley Power Station, there is another with an on board camera.....

Below is a photo of my mates Catamaran moments before he applied throttle and flipped it backwards...... {-)

I've watched that video lots, it always gets better!

Love the photo!

brav0, that esky tx and rx you posted a link to earlier, the rx is no good for you, unless you take it apart, and its then a real fiddly job to get it to work. You see in the link there are recommendations which helicopters it works with. The ones recommended are twin motor, coaxial helicopters, you will see on the picture there are the battery wires, then 2 x 2 pin plugs, one each for each motor. These rx's have inside 2 boards, one is a gyro, and one is the rx. You will have to split the boards, then fabricate pins to go on the rudder and throttle connectors, they are not standard sizes, much smaller, its very easy to break the pins or boards, its not worth the bother.

By far the best I have had is the turborix transmitter and receiver, 2.4ghz, tx is approx £30 with a receiver, and rx are £10, I have a few, absoolutely no problerms. The esky stuff is for helicopters, so throttle is not self centring, this isnt a problem with the boat you are doing as you will not want reverse, but if you get anything else that requires reverse, then you need another tx, instead of just another ten quid rx, even that tx requires a small mod moving a spring to get self centre

as for chargers, I have an imax b5, its great, the b6 is better, as for the small balance chargers that come with the helis etc, useless,they will take hours to charge your batteries, I speak with experience as I fly rc helis :-))

Thanks for your reply Red181!

I didn't realise it would be so much of a pain! Good job I went for the Turborix!

I've ordered some bits and bobs, waiting until I get some more money before getting the boat! I've decided to go for the Cat in Black!

There is a very simple answer to the balance problem. You simply use 2 of the smaller lipo 3s packs, say 1050's and wire them in parallel with a y harness. One on either side of the boat balances fine and you don't lose capacity over the suggested 2200mah lipo pack.

If you have a charger like the B6 you can charge them in the same configuration and still maintain cell balance

That's a very good point! That sounds easy enough.
