1 ESC with 2 motors using mixer
« on: May 27, 2010, 06:39:29 pm »

Hi All,
Does anyone know where i can get a diagram showing 1 ESc with 2 motors uding a v-tail mixer or similar.
I have an old shop sppedboat and want to change the 2shop" electrics to proper RC using no rudder.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi BrynbachAus,
its not possible to do what you want with just 1 esc. You will need an esc for each motor. I personally haven't tried using a v tail mixer to achieve this effect but have read several articles on it. Most seem to go for a dedicated on board mixer rather than use the transmitter mixer, as most transmitters v tail mixers don't seem to give sufficient mixing to get satisfactory performance.
I guess it depends on the transmitter, I'm sure some others here will enlighten us more. a good start would be to have a look at action electronics web site, theres loads of information on mixers there.

cheers Glenn
